A ‘Heads Up’ with … Tony Morin
Inspired while self-isolating
With Covid-19 lockdowns worldwide and health authorities urging people to self-isolate and practice social distancing on a massive scale as part of an enormous effort to #FlattenTheCurve of this global pandemic … we are reaching out to industry friends, colleagues, associates, partners, etc., and asking them to share their #StayAtHome and #QuarantineAndChill activities with us during this extraordinary time.
Robe: What would you normally be doing?
Tony: I am Tony Morin, Anolis Project Manager in North America. I make sure all projects have the correct items needed for a working system/install. I also QC demos, create 3D renderings and connection diagrams for projects.
Robe: Where are you right now?
Tony: At home in Florida staying clear of the virus.
Robe: What are you doing to fill the time whilst isolating?
Tony: I have been busy since we started working from home, seems the Architectural industry hasn’t been affected much.
Robe: What’s the most creative thing you’re able to do in isolation?
Tony: I recently purchased a 3D printer and have been designing/printing face shields and door-openers for local businesses.
Robe: Are you looking after anyone else during the crisis?
Tony: My wife is a Nurse Practitioner, so she has to be at work, so I’ve been home with both my children (7 and 9 years old) and juggling their home schooling with work…I’m going to need a long vacation after this.
Robe: Has anyone inspired you since this started?
Tony: There is one person who I’ve been inspired by during this crazy time and his name is Josef Prusa. He owns a 3D Printer company in the Czech Republic called PRUSA Research, he was one of the first companies to get the majority of 3D printing community to start printing Face Shields from their homes and donate to hospitals and first responders.
Robe: Favourite book / movie / Netflix series / viral video?
Tony: My favourite book is American Sniper, Movie would be anything History related, I don’t watch much Netflix but when I do it’s only Documentaries and I’ve stayed away from social media but I do watch a lot of How to/DIY videos on YouTube.
Robe: What’s the first thing you’d like to do when we are through this?
Tony: Seeing my family in person and giving them a hug would be one of the first things I’d like to do…then some hog hunting.
Robe: Own question / answer / message of solidarity or something you’d want to say?
Tony: I’d like to thank the entire ROBE / Anolis family and our Clients during these rough times, everyone has been eager to get back to work and provide great service and amazing products. Stay Safe and Positive.
